Death does not discriminate – Inquest into Home and Away actor

I recall seeing this disturbing news of the young Home and Away actor Jessica Falkholt and her family being involved in a car accident on Boxing Day 2017, which resulted in the who family passing away within days of one another.

As recorded by Chanel 7, the NSW Coroners Court was told on Tuesday by witnesses that the Falkholt family “ were pushed up to the air and momentarily formed a triangle”.

The Coroner Teresa O’Sullivan is being asked to consider the effect a cocktail of prescription drugs had on the driving ability of Whitall, who also died in the crash.

I find myself often discussing this accident with my clients to help them better understand that we simply do not know when our time is up.

While this inquest is not going to bring the Whitall or Falkhold family members back, it gives us a short of reality that we only live once and for us to live our best life everyday.

As a legal practitioner, I often meet people when they are at their most vulnerable and attempt to educate people on scenarios which can occur if matters are not dealt with correctly.

As solicitors, we are not here to counsel our client to help them feel better nor are we here to provide you advice in which you want to hear.  At OverLaw Legal Services, we are here to serve you, to protect you and provide you with advice, even if it is advice you do not want to hear.

As a solicitor, we find ourselves time and time again saying, get your affairs in order as death clearly does not discriminate! May it be estate planning, funeral arrangements, insurance or property/business management, it is vital for everyone to make arrangements.

The inquest is set to run until Friday and we offer our sincerest condolences to the Whitall and Falkhold families.
